Oh my god, the hilarity!
So I’m looking through marriage records of Washington County, VA trying to prove yet once more Ann Sharp Laughlin….and I come across this:
Koontz, Dorathy 60
(Note: Vulgarity is irresistable to certain types of mind. In variantions of this name, look where no gentleman should ever look, but many do. All respectable married women know what I mean. A divorce was recently granted a very nice woman on the basis that her husband was too sissy to avail himself of this free and delightful oppurtunity.)

Yes that is quite a note – also given that on p18 there is a certain George with that questionable last name.
